It’s a little-known fact that before Germany’s official national color was bare silver (hence the Silver Arrows), it was white. Italy has Rosso Corsa red (made famous by Ferrari), Britain has British Racing Green (made most famous by Colin Chapman and Lotus F1). Germany has silver because in 1934, Mercedes engineers stripped the white, lead-based paint to save weight on their Mercedes-Benz W25 grand Prix car.
But even today, German cars, and particularly Porsches, look undeniably attractive with an alpine-white paint job. Is it inherited? Natural? Maybe just a coincidence? Porsche calls it Grand Prix White for a reason, and no one would blame you for being swayed toward that end of the color spectrum. 1982 Porsche 930 911 Turbo
What we like: Original 930 “Slant Nose” 911s are hard to come by. More than a few on the road today are actually just standard 911s converted by amateurs. This particular 930 is a factory-built Flactbau.
From the seller: Beautiful German-specification 930. Factory Flachtbau Steel Slant Nose available through Porsche (Special Wishes Program). German spec 930 with approx 30 horsepower more than U.S. spec.

1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet
What we like: The black accents of the cloth top, Fuchs wheels and all the cladding that came on Turbos naturally sit well with the bright Grand Prix White paint.
From the seller: Sold new at Holbert Porsche-Audi, the car was purchased by the previous owner in 1990 with 14k miles. The 3.2-liter flat-six is paired to a 915 five-speed manual that was given a $4K refresh in 2005 with new synchros and clutch.

1957 Porsche 356A Speedster
What we like: This Speedster has seen some miles — and it shows — but there’s no denying this car’s elegance and stunning silhouette.
From the seller: This 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster, chassis #83337, is an unrestored example finished in correct white over black that is powered by a non-matching 1600cc flat-four engine. Owned for the last 20 years by its West Texas seller, it has been driven on numerous lengthy road trips and is described as a fast and reliable driver that could benefit from bodywork and rust repair in the floors if the new owner wishes to restore it to a higher level.

1987 Porsche 911 Carrera
What we like: Despite having a few owners and over 100,000 miles, this Carrera looks to be immaculately maintained. The past 20 years have been extremely kind to this Carrera.
From the seller: The seller has added just over 10K miles during his five years of ownership and has stored this example indoors during the winter months.

1994 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet
What we like: ’90s Porsche 911s have been increasing in price for quite some time. So to see an example like this with so few miles and at such a low price is a rarity. Don’t expect the the going bid to stay this low forever, though.
From the seller: This example was purchased in July 2016 by the seller, who lives in Connecticut and had it thoroughly inspected by Rennwerke Porsche in Elmsford, New York. He has added 3,200 miles since and stored the car in a climate-controlled garage during the winter. This 964 is now being offered with a clean Carfax, Porsche CoA, service records dating back to 1994, the original owner’s manuals and a clean Connecticut title in the seller’s name.
