This Wild Winged Porsche Marks the First of Singer’s Most Extreme 911 Yet

Between its striking looks and its impressive output, the DLS Turbo makes for a transformative take on the classic Type 964.

Although Singer exclusively works with the Porsche 911, the California-based outfit’s catalog is far more diverse than you might expect. From comprehensive Classic and Turbo builds to the recently unveiled Carrera coupe, these days, the brand offers plenty of avenues for buyers to create the P-car of their dreams.

Yet, none of those compares to the Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer – DLS Turbo in terms of performance or physical presence. Even though it’s technically based on a 964 like other options in the lineup, a transformative body kit and a potent powertrain mean that it skews more 1970s endurance racer than road car.

Singer first dropped the option back on the world in 2023. Now, at long last, the brand has unveiled its first customer commission.

Singer’s first complete DLS Turbo

The owner has dubbed it “Sorcerer,” which makes for a fitting name considering the wizardry that Singer has managed to accomplish as part of its restoration efforts.

That twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six makes over 700 horsepower and screams to 9,000 rpm.

That’s because, in addition to reinforcing the chassis, shedding weight and cloaking the car in carbon fiber bodywork through its DLS (that’s Dynamics and Lightweighting Study for the uninitiated) services, the brand has also upgraded the 964 with quite the engine under the hood.

It takes the form of a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six that’s capable of revving to 9,000 rpm — in other words, it’s a screamer. According to Singer, output is rated for over 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, so it has the giddyup to back up its bark, too.

Naturally, then, the brand couldn’t just leave the rest of the platform alone. Along with double wishbone front suspension, lightweight trailing arms and carbon ceramic disc brakes, the DLS Turbo also benefits from a set of staggered forged magnesium wheels wrapped in grippy Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber.

What’s more, Singer has equipped the car with Bosch ABS, variable traction and stability control systems, allowing for a bit of assistance (not without some driver input) to keep things from getting too sideways.

A sorcerer shaped for the track

As part of its DLS Turbo services, Singer offers owners the choice of both road and track-focused bodywork, with differing front fascia and rear aero depending on the spec.

Needless to say, Sorcerer’s owner opted for the latter. From the low-slung splitter to the bulbous wheel arches and gargantuan wing, the car is a far sight different to the way that it left the factory — Singer says that it’s meant to celebrate the 934/5 of old.

While the DLS Turbo is a performance car first, it comes with its fair share of refinements and creature comforts, too.

Now, there’s far more to the car’s initiatives than a choice of bodywork. In addition to specifying Sorcerer’s graduated Fantasia Blue paint, the owner also worked with Singer to design a completely bespoke interior.

Between satin carbon fiber trim, Pebble Grey leather and Pearl Grey Alcantara accents, it makes for a look that’s understated but impactful. And, with custom details like floating gauges with Champagne bezels and discrete navigation with phone connectivity, it’s highly refined.

Pricing and availability

Singer completes each DLS Turbo restoration at its UK facility. If you’re interested in commissioning a build, you can reach out for more information.

Seeing as the brand will be building a limited number of DLS Turbo-spec cars, you’d better be prepared to pony up. If Singer’s previous efforts are anything to go by, it could easily be a seven-figure project.
