Mercedes announced three new models ahead of the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show: the 2019 C-Class Sedan, the 2019 AMG G63 SUV and the ultra-luxurious Maybach Sedan. Expect the Mercedes stand to be packed with new design, more performance and even more luxury.
For 2019, the C-Class gets more of an intense refresh than a complete overhaul. Some highlights we’ll find on the sedan come late 2018 is a power bump of 14 horsepower over the old C300’s 2.0-liter inline-four, trickle-down driver assistance technology from the upmarket E-Class and slightly redesigned front and rear bumpers.
The G63, Benz’s military-esque 4×4 SUV, is the next step up the newest generation G-Class — out goes the old 5.5-liter V8 and in comes the new 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8. Don’t sulk at the announcement of more downsizing just yet, though: this is the same V8 from the AMG GT R, so it’s good for 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. And although Mercedes hasn’t released the G63’s official weight, rest assured the SUV’s 0-60 mph sprint time of 4.4 seconds is incredibly impressive.
Last, and certainly not least, the all-new Maybach S560 and S650 models get an entirely new redesign, a new two-tone paint job and new front grille. The wheelbase also stretches an extra 10 inches over the ‘standard’ S-Class. As of now (or until the G65 is confirmed), the Maybach S650 is the only Mercedes to carry a V12, which just multiplies the aura of opulence around the car tenfold (or maybe twelvefold).
Mercedes hasn’t confirmed any pricing yet, but expect that to change when the Geneva International Motor Show rolls around early next month.
