Remember the Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak Concept from last year? Well, it seems the Auburn Hills automaker might actually be taking it seriously.

A report from enthusiast site, MoparInsiders, suggests the concept could become a production reality. Product planners are apparently taking the prospect “seriously” and “momentum behind the idea appears to be growing internally.”

We couldn’t be more excited about the prospect. An overlander based on the Pacifica could make #vanlife far more accessible and affordable to all those interested.

Van life for all

According to the report, a source “close to the matter” said that the Chrysler team is really considering a production version of the Pacifica Grizzly Peak Concept. It makes total sense considering overlanding and #vanlife continue to trend in the motoring and outdoor adventure lifestyles.

Vans have also been one of the primary tools to indulging in the mobile nomadic lifestyle because of their versatility and practicality. But what makes the prospect of a production Pacifica Grizzly Peak unique is that it could make the lifestyle much more readily available.

That’s because purpose-built overlanding vans and even camper vans are not in any way cheap. This is largely due to the equipment levels and engineering involved to make them a reality.

Additionally, the majority of the vans used to create such machines aren’t very affordable to begin with. But basing an adventure van on a preexisting and more pedestrian platform like the Pacifica could change that.

Also, not everyone needs a lavishly appointed, six-figure Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van to indulge in van life. The Pacifica Grizzly Peak could be the answer to that demand.

Making minivans really cool again

Chrysler revealed the Pacifica Grizzly Peak Concept in 2025 to tap into the fast-growing #vanlife movement. The concept debuted at the Overland Expo Mountain West event in Loveland, Colorado.

Since then, feedback’s reportedly been extremely positive. Especially because Chrysler engineers really pulled out all the stops to make an awesome van concept.

For instance, the Grizzly Peak comes with a light suspension lift for an extra nearly three inches of ground clearance. The team then equipped special 18-inch lightweight alloys wrapped in 31-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires.

Inside, Chrysler removed the third row of seating and in its place, put a flat floor surface to enlarge the cargo area for hauling and potential sleeping quarters.

The team also integrated more tie-down straps, power outlets and beefed up the interior materials for improved durability. And the results were staggeringly awesome.

Mechanically, the Pacifica Grizzly Peak remained unchanged with the usual 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 driving all four wheels through a nine-speed auto.

Despite the suspension lift and tires, it’s not going to keep up with a Wrangler in the really tough trails and bits. But it should still be more than capable than your average road-going Pacifica.
