Bell Helmets Bullit
Save 25%: The Bell Helmets Star was the first full-faced helmet to ever hit the market back in 1963. Since then, the Star model line evolved with the times and after more than 50 years of technological advancement, it’s a far cry from the ’63 original. To bring back some of that ’60s style, Bell introduced the Bullit, effectively remaking the original star, but with modern safety. Today on Revzilla, you can get this timeless, stylish full-faced lid for 25 percent off, saving yourself $100. That’s a great deal, regardless of the decade. — Bryan Campbell

Dyson-V6-Origin-Cordless-Stick-Vacuum-gear-patrol-lead-full

Dyson V6 Vacuum
Save 25%: In the world of vacuums, you settle or you splurge. Though most would not blame you for rolling with an inexpensive vacuum, there’s a reason Dyson’s super-premium models have endured as the vacuum — so much so that the brand’s biggest competition is itself.

The newest Dyson vac — the product whose release halted production of any corded, upright vacs forever — is effective, but almost $1,000. The V8 is a good alternative, but still $350 at its cheapest. What’s left? The V6.

Dyson’s V6 vacuum was the British brand’s first real push into the cordless handheld vacuum market. Its top-end suction power (100 air watts) is significantly less than the V10 (151 air watts), and somewhat less than the V8 (115 air watts), but that literally does not matter as any of these on the normal or middle suction zone is absolutely plenty of pull.

This V6 is refurbished by Dyson itself, and comes with a specific warranty guaranteeing a replacement within 6 months if it doesn’t fit the brand’s high standards. Where the V10 is $700, the V8 is $350, it is a mere $180. That’s about as affordable as a Dyson gets.

The refurbished V6 is 25 percent off on Amazon until early tomorrow morning. — Will Price

Alpinestar

Alpinestars Devon Airflow Jacket
Save 18%: When it comes to summer riding and hot weather, it’s easy to be tempted to dress down. But, there’s a reason the saying “dress for the slide, not the ride,” exists. It’s important to keep yourself protected when you ride, and it’s also just as important to not pass out from heat exhaustion. With that said, you don’t need to compromise, all you need is a jacket like the Alpinestars Devon Airflow Jacket.

A Bit of a hybrid jacket, the Devon Airflow utilizes protective leather in areas where you might need it in case of a fall and perforation and mesh where airflow is also critical. As far as summertime riding jackets go, the Devon Airflow rates among the best. — Bryan Campbell

Danner-Summer-Sale-gear-patrol-full-lead
Danner

Danner Mountain Light Hiking Boots
Save $114: Ask I child to draw a picture of a someone wearing hiking boots. She’ll likely illustrate footwear that’s somewhat clunky with some heavy tread, and if you give her colored pencils, chances are that boot will be brown. Task an adult with the same assignment and the result may be a more skillful reproduction (depending on the adult) but the image will essentially be the same — a brown leather boot, heavy tread; it’s the icon image that’s come to stand for the entire hiking boot category.

It also happens to be a very close representation of Danner’s most iconic hiking boot, the Mountain Light. That boot is a contemporary iteration of Danner’s very first hiking boot, the 6490, which was released in 1973 and quickly gained acclaim from numerous outdoor publications at the time. The boot was durable, comfortable and lighter than any other rugged hiking footwear at the time.

The Mountain Light continues the legacy of the 6490. It’s built with an upper made from a single piece of full-grain leather and hefty Vibram Kletterlift rubber outsole. The construction provides ample stability and support, and after the requisite break-in period, the Mountain Light’s leather conforms to the foot for a close fit akin to which only a custom bootmaker can provide. Treat them well, and they’ll likely last long enough to pass on to the next generation.

Right now, Danner’s Mountain Light hiking boots are on sale at Backcountry for 30 percent off, with plenty of sizes and colors in stock. It might be the cheapest way to pick up a pair (other than searching for the ones that Reese Witherspoon threw off of a cliff in Oregon’s Willamette Forest during the filming of Wild).

Note: Danner recommends buying a half-size down from what you typically wear for the best fit. — Tanner Bowden

Sony

Sony NW-A45 Walkman
Save $42: You can still buy a Sony Walkman these days, it’s true, but they aren’t the Walkmans of yesteryear that play cassette tapes. Instead, Sony’s current crop of Walkmans are portable high-res audio players that look similar to an iPad Touch. The NW-A45 Walkman is one of the company’s newer models — released in 2017 — and it’s also one of the most budget-friendly you can find. It has a built-in amplifier and is able to play 24-bit audio at 96kHz, which is significantly higher-resolution than what you’d get from a CD player. And it has 16GB of storage with a microSD slot in case you need more. For musicians, audiophiles on a budget, and or anybody who wants to take the first steps into hi-fi, this device is a pretty good upgrade from your smartphone.

The North Face Apex Flex GTX Hooded Jacket
Save 30%: Soft shell jackets land somewhere in the space between tradition windbreakers and fleece jackets. However, instead of getting lost in the shuffle, the softshell’s versatility helps it stand out. Today, you can get the Apex Flex GTX Hooded Jacket by The North Face for $161, when it usually retails for $229.

A three-layer GoreTex liner makes the Apex Flex GTX both wind and waterproof while venting under the arms works to regulate the temperature inside the jacket. More so, the fit of the jacket makes it possible to use as a base or mid-layer on chillier days. It’s most definitely a three season item, but if you plan on heading anywhere with serious altitude or a chance of a temperature drop a good soft shell like the Apex Flex GTX Hooded Jacket by The North Face is essential.

Taschen-Book-Sale-gear-patrol-lead-full
Taschen

Taschen Coffee Table Books
Save up to 75%: Your home is more than a living space; that term would imply that the sole purpose of everything inside it is to aid in the functions of daily survival. The truth is that your apartment or house is filled with a consciously- and unconsciously-collected group of objects that together act as a representation of who you are. (And if it truly is empty, well that says a lot, too.)

As a focal point of one of the more social rooms in any space — the living room — the coffee table provides an opportunity to curate how visitors might understand you. Yes, it’s a surface for remote controls and drinking vessels, but it can also accommodate larger objects, like books. There’s even a term for this: the coffee table book.

These publications are extensive and usually filled with as many pictures as words. Every subject is fair game too — the art lover might display a tome on Matisse’s work with paper cut-outs, while a vagabond would favor photographer Steve McCurry’s photographic work in Afghanistan. These two books and many more are currently featured in Taschen’s sale on display and slightly-damaged models. Discounts range from 25-75 percent off, and given that these big books can cost as much as $700, it’s a sale worth checking out. — Tanner Bowden

Stanley-16oz-Thermos-gear-patrol-full-lead
Stanley

Stanley One Hand Vacuum Mug
Save 32%: There’s something understated about a travel mug; it doesn’t have the flair of a martini glass or the classic appeal of a French Picardie tumbler or even the familiar hominess of an open-top ceramic mug. And yet, the travel mug is judged harsher than any of these vessels and upon a much more rigorous set of standards.

Heat retention, cold retention, leak-resistance, cup holder compatibility, in-hand ergonomics and ease of cleaning are all must-have properties, and insufficiency in any one can be cause for abandonment. Plus, it should be durable enough to last years.

Stanley’s classic One Hand Vacuum Mug is a humble and competent contender for the best travel mug available. I discovered this as the pre-dawn cold of Wyoming — not the shiver-inducing type of cold but the kind that kills the nerve endings inside your nostrils with every inhale — prompted me to undertake a search for a container that could maintain its internal heat better than my own body. The One Hand Vacuum Mug does that almost too well; once safely indoors I often remove the mug’s lid to bring my drink down to tastebud-friendly temperatures.

That this mug can also be operated with one hand is a boon to frozen fingers everywhere, and it’s never let loose a single drop of fluid (even after a sufficient jostling inside my backpack). Given the amount of use it’ll undoubtedly see, it’s an easy way to spend $28. Right now though you can get one for just $19 — even better. — Tanner Bowden

Barebones Living Cast-Iron Cookware
Save 15%: Barebones Living is a Utah-based maker of many outdoor products that all have one thing in common — stellar looks — and its cast-iron cookware may very well be the best example.

The brand’s cast iron catalog is not meant for kitchens so much as it is the campsite. It skips the practice of machining the cooking surface smooth in favor of a nice and heavy body, big hand grips and handles that rise a bit more than usual (in case you’re grabbing it from the fire). Its Dutch oven even sports “legs,” which are essentially there to lift it up enough to put coals under it.

Biolite-BaseLantern-XL-gear-patrol-full-lead
Biolite

BioLite BaseLantern XL
Save 15%: On a recent night in Brooklyn, a group of friends took advantage of the warmer weather and gathered in a rare parcel of lawn amongst the brownstone and brick for a cookout. As the sun set behind the skyscrapers to the west and details of their cheeseburgers and spare ribs became less-perceivable, the hostess brought out a geometric lantern that looked nothing like the old Colemans her family used to take camping Upstate.

The group was immediately impressed. The light — BioLite’s BaseLantern XL — illuminated the assembly and urged the feast to continue. Once the plates were replaced with a few additional bottles and cans, the hostess marked the shift and simultaneously awed her guests by adjusting the lantern’s settings to emit a constantly-changing rainbow spectrum of LED. That, she was able to accomplish from an app in her phone, which, for the record, was refilling its battery via a USB port in the lantern’s casing.

When the crowd finally succumbed to the lateness of the hour and the persistent flocks of mosquitos, she brought the lantern back inside and extinguished one of its sides to reserve battery and direct its radius for use as a bedside reading lamp.

Its versatility was as undeniable as its value; which normally sits at $130. Right now though, in preparation for the upcoming Independence Day holiday, BioLite is offering a 15 percent discount that can be accessed by entering the code FIREWORKS at checkout. The code works for BioLites other products like its wood-fueled pizza oven — see the full offering here but note that some new items aren’t included in the sale. — Tanner Bowden
