Save 20%: The Bobcat looks like a sleeping bag that’s been given the blanket treatment — it’s rectangular with down-filled diamond baffles — but it hides an array of smart features that give it the extra functionality it needs to become a reliable piece of camping gear. For one, Kammok used top-notch Atmos 20D ripstop nylon and responsibly-sourced, water repellent down. It also has cinch cords at either end and snaps running down its sides so that it can effectively close up like a sleeping bag if that’s the way you want to use it. It also comes with straps that link it to your sleeping pad so it won’t fall off in the middle of the night and a conversion kit that turns it into an underquilt for sleeping in a hammock. These attributes make the Bobcat ideal for backpacking and camping, but even if you have no use for them the quilt is still a warm and light solution for the home or the camper. — Tanner Bowden

We love the rubberized nylon ripstop fabric and how it holds up to airport carousels as well as in the under-carriage bus storage. Right now, you can pick up a 60-liter bag for just $90.30 in a variety of colors. — Meg Lappe

MSR Hubba Hubba NX Tent
Save $112: If any tent could be considered a modern classic, it might just be the Hubba Hubba. MSR’s experience designing tents goes way back — its first shelter debuted in 1973. It built the Hubba Hubba for lightweight backpacking but constructed it with enough space to keep even the once-in-a-while camper comfortable. That’s largely a result of an innovative single-unit pole design that stretches the interior walls wide and lifts the tent ceiling at the same time. The result is a two-person tent that is 43 cubic feet in volume, weighs just under four pounds and packs down smaller than most sleeping bags. That makes the tent light enough for multi-day treks and spacious enough for a weekend music festival. — Tanner Bowden

Coleman Coolers
Save up to 50%: Rotomolded coolers, the kind you can get from companies like Yeti, OtterBox, Orca and Pelican, are indestructible and will keep contents cold for days. But they’re also expensive — a 40- to 50-quart cooler can cost as much as $350. There’s something to be said for cheap coolers though, the kind you’ve seen at barbecues and tailgates (red or blue bottom, white lid). A cheap cooler won’t keep ice frozen for three days, and if you hurl it off a cliff, it’ll probably break. But it will work for short-term gatherings, and depending on the size, it’ll cost less than $50. Actually, if you buy one from the selection of Coleman coolers currently on sale at REI, it could cost less than $20. — Tanner Bowden

If you’re in need of a new pair of everyday shades, don’t pass on this sale — it’ll be hard to find prices like this again. — John Zientek
