For athletes dedicated to both strength and speed, finding a single shoe built to do it all can be one of the biggest obstacles to reaching and surpassing their training and competition goals.

While most shoes are designed primarily for either running or strength training, a growing category of hybrid trainers aims to bridge the gap.

Now, one of the most trusted names in sports and footwear is adding a new contender to the field that mixes an affordable price point with high-end tech.

The Adidas Adizero Dropset Pro Training Shoe combines performance tech from the brand’s renowned running lineup and its strength-training franchise, creating a versatile trainer built to handle everything from explosive lifts to high-speed workouts … without breaking the bank.

Built for everything

The Adizero Dropset Elite, launched earlier in 2026, delivered an ultra-premium take on hybrid training.

The new Adizero Dropset Pro Training Shoe combines the speed-focused innovation of Adizero with the stability-driven DNA of Dropset at a far more accessible price point.

The resulting model is fast, grippy and stable, engineered to handle the rigors of hybrid training and competition.

Designed with running, lunging, lifting and more in mind, the Adizero Dropset Pro is able to lock in or stay light, depending what the athlete needs.

Underfoot, the new silhouette is built with LightstrikePro supercritical foam, which offers next-level energy return and ultra-light cushioning. (The men’s version weighs just 8.54 ounces per pair, while the women’s weighs a mere 7.16 ounces.)

Adidas claims new research shows “4 in 5 hybrid athletes say they expect their footwear to support every part of their workout but more than a third say they have not found a single pair of shoes that works across every exercise in their training.” This shoe aims to change those numbers for better.

Additionally, the new super hybrid trainer features more minimal materials, including an engineered mesh upper that provides support and flexibility, a weight-saving, ultra-thin 2.6mm Adizero EVA sockliner and the brand’s breathable Climacool technology.

A grippy Lighttraxion outsole built with Continental rubber and integrated Energyrods for stable heel-to-toe transitions help control pace and ground the super-light super shoe.

The latest edition in the Adizero Dropset franchise cements Adidas as a power player in hybrid training and reflects the brand’s commitment to providing excellence in the fast-growing performance category at every price point.
