As its legions of fans know, these days Benchmade makes a staggering range of knives for various purposes, from hunting and fishing to cooking, everyday carry and more.

It’s also a brand that’s so self-assured, it’s not afraid to defy convention, with a folding survival knife and fixed-blade EDC knife serving as two prime examples.

Measuring 10.88 inches from tip to tail, Benchmade’s best culinary knife looks better than ever in camo.

So perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised to see Benchmade give a military-inspired makeover to, of all things, its acclaimed original kitchen knife, a favorite of chefs everywhere since its launch five years ago.

I’m certainly not shocked the new Station Knife Camo looks compelling AF, especially with its sneaky functional benefit and complementary combo knife roll/apron.

Improving your Station

While it’s easy to roll your eyes at the notion of adding camouflage to a kitchen knife, it’s worth noting that the pattern has long crossed over from military to mainstream, appearing everywhere from jackets to watches to shoes

Adding both style and protection, the Cerakote finish is one of the coolest trends in knives and EDC these days.

This treatment isn’t just for looks either, as that camo pattern is actually a multilayer Cerakote finish that imbues the milled 6061-T6 aluminum handle scales with additional resistance to wear, abrasion, corrosion and chemicals.

Each unit is technically one of a kind as well, as each handle has its own individual camo pattern.

Valued for its edge retention, corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening, CPM-154 emerged from Crucible Industries in 2004 as a spinoff of 154CM with a different manufacturing process.

The blade gets a fitting new finish too: made of CPM-154 stainless steel, the 5.97-inch clip-point blade gets coated in Flat Dark Earth PVD for both additional protection and to neatly match the handle.

As if those elements weren’t enough, the new Station Knife comes with a couple of cool accessories that make the admittedly high price a bit easier to swallow.

Keeping the blade safely covered until you need it is a sturdy black Boltaron sheath with a leather retention strap.

While sheaths are pretty standard for the Station, it’s arguably the best-looking one yet.

The other add-on is unique to this release and quite cool: a matching camo-patterned apron that doubles as a knife roll.

As demonstrated by rising BBQ star Matt Groark in the Instagram post accompanying this launch, the apron looks just about as good as both the knife and the mouth-watering Picanha he is prepping with it.

Availability and pricing

The Benchmade Station Knife Limited Edition Camo is available now for $450. It comes with a free camo apron/knife roll through June 21st while supplies last.
