I’d like to think that, even in a galaxy far, far away, a trusty pocket knife would still be an invaluable, handy tool to keep on your person.

It seems Prometheus Design Werx, a beloved tactical and outdoor brand, agrees. Or at least that’s what I’ve gathered from the PDW SPD X Strider SMF Tiger Stripe Mythosaur.

This release takes one of the most iconic tactical folding knives ever and breathes new, interesting life into it. Here’s how:

The laser-etched camo pattern takes a whopping four hours per knife to apply.

Galactic camouflage

Clearly, this special-edition knife was designed and launched in anticipation of the upcoming Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu. That would explain the Mythosaur skull etched onto the handle, a signature of the Mandalorian people.

And while that novelty is certainly fun, especially for lifelong fans like myself, it’s honestly the least interesting part of this knife.

Yes, there is a Mythosaur skull icon, a signature of the Mandalorians from Star Wars, etched on the MagnaCut blade.

Take in the surrounding design, for instance. This unique camouflage pattern, which can be found on both the blade and the handle, is a laser-etched design. And it is so in-depth and detailed that it takes a whopping four hours per knife to apply.

And it’s convincing, too. Drop this knife onto the forest floor of one of the moons of Endor, and I bet you’re going to have a damn hard time finding it again. (On second thought, don’t try that, just to be safe.)

To pair with the MagnaCut blade, the frame lock handle is lightweight, super-strong titanium.

Bountiful blade

It doesn’t hurt that this unique design is applied to what is certainly among the most beloved tactical folding knives ever, the Strider SMF. Originally designed for the USMC, this knife has always been formidable, but this version is especially so.

That starts with its blade. While maintaining the same drop-point shape, spine jimping and signature thumb hole, it gets a big material upgrade to MagnaCut steel, among the most beloved of the moment.

While [the Star Wars] novelty is certainly fun, especially for lifelong fans like myself, it’s honestly the least interesting part of this knife.

Then, on the other side of the knife, there’s the handle. With an integrated frame lock, it boasts an all-titanium construction, helping to cut weight without sacrificing any strength, durability or security.

As it says on the handle of this knife itself, “keep your wits sharp and your blade sharper.” It’s sage advice, of course, but it would definitely help your cause if this particular knife were in your pocket.

The handle has the phrase “keep your wits sharp and your blade sharper” etched into it below the spine.
