Nike’s premier outdoor sub-label, ACG (short for All Conditions Gear), made waves with its global comeback during the 2026 Winter Olympics this past February.

Now, the cult-favorite label builds on that momentum with its first hiking option since that rebirth, a trail-tuned, lightweight boot that blends innovative running tech with outdoor-tested durability.

Tread lightly

Nike ACG developed the Zegama Hike to address the needs of outdoor athletes seeking footwear that is simultaneously lighter, more responsive and more protective than traditional trail shoes.

The forthcoming boot’s performance trifecta was achieved by creating an entirely brand-new, trail-specific last, constructed to increase room in the forefoot and toe box.

Combined with the existing Zegama trail shoe’s DNA (most notably, its trail-ready ZoomX foam), it results in a nimble, powerful boot that won’t weigh hikers down.

“Zegama Hike is disruptive for all the right reasons, bringing the best of Nike innovation into hiking and delivering a holistic system that puts the athlete’s needs at the center,” says Brenden McAleese, Director, ACG Footwear.

That supercritical foam sits directly underfoot and is surrounded by a more protective, rigid foam designed to provide stability and support on uneven terrain.

The midheight boot features enhanced durability provided by rubberized overlays, reinforced toe and heel guards, while the precision-cut ankle gaiter keeps debris out and provides a subtle touch of support and comfort.

The Vibram Megagrip outsole completes the rugged-yet-refined component package; it’s formulated to provide greater downhill grip and control, an element that is indispensable on demanding trails.

The Zegama Hike doesn’t just continue ACG’s dedication to crafting boundary-pushing outdoor gear; the hiker also maintains the sub-label’s unique, style-forward aesthetic, mixing in conventional trail design cues with an ACG-specific color palette and branding.
