An instant classic

Abercrombie & Fitch currently specializes in casual clothing, but the company started out as a high-end sporting goods retailer in Manhattan, with deep roots in the outdoors.

It’s that heritage, paired with Sperry’s renowned construction and perennial preppy sensibility, that make the new collaboration boat shoe so appealing.

This isn’t the first time the two American legacy brands have partnered up, for the record.

Their shared history dates all the way back to 1935, when founder Paul Sperry introduced the original Top-Sider and secured one of his earliest major wholesale orders from Abercrombie & Fitch.

Fast-forward nearly a century, and that partnership comes full circle.

The new release channels both brands’ coastal, preppy DNA, combining a rich, unlined full-grain leather upper with a grippy rubber outsole, EVA cushioning and nautical-inspired removable beading and charm details.

Although its materials and construction are premium, the 2-Eye Boat Shoe remains surprisingly accessible.
