Editor's Note: On September 20th, 2020, whisky journalist and founder of OurWhisky.com Becky Paskin publicly highlighted over 34 overt gendered sexual references included in Jim Murray's newly released Whisky Bible 2021. Murray's tasting notes objectifying women as sexual objects are disturbing and contradict our company values. As a result, we have updated our previous coverage on Mr. Murray with this message to ensure readers are fully aware of Mr. Murray's views.

For all the good winning ribbons does for a bottle of whiskey (with or without the “e”), no panel of judges wields as much influence as Jim Murray, whose annual Whiskey Bible can make or break trends in the world of whiskey.

One of his superlative picks for 2019 was not yet available when the list originally published back in October. Canadian Club 41 Year Old is the label’s oldest bottle to date. But the number’s not just for show. According to Murray, it was the best Canadian whisky of the year.

Bottled within a decanter-style vessel like those from decades past, the blend is a mix of old Canadian Club, cognac, rye and sherry.
