Yeti Just Made the Cooler You’ve Always Wanted

Yeti’s same tough-as-nails design, in a small and easy-to-carry package.

Chase Pellerin

The name Yeti is synonymous with rugged, tough coolers. They started with their large, hard-side Tundra coolers, which were made famous by their Yeti vs. 500 LB Man and Yeti vs. Bear YouTube videos. Then two years ago, Yeti released the Hopper, a soft-sided cooler with the same tough-as-nails build quality as the original Tundra. The Hopper comes in sizes 20, 30 and 40 — great sizes for longer trips and for carrying around, but many Yeti consumers called for a smaller size more suited to shorter trips and afternoons spent fly-fishing on the river. To fill this void, Yeti released the Hopper Flip.

The new Flip, which comes out today, sheds the tote-bag styling for a more traditional cube shape, and it comes in a more portable size that holds 12 pounds of ice alone, or 12 beers with a two-to-one ice-to-can ratio. Aside from being great for a day on the river, the Hopper Flip is the ideal size for bringing lunch to the office, carrying perishable groceries on your bike, taking sandwiches and beverages on a day hike, or just about anything else you can think of that calls for a small amount of provisions. The Flip is constructed just like its larger Hopper brethren, with ColdCell foam insulation on the sides, bottom and lid. Yeti researched and tested the lid design extensively and guarantees that it will stand up to wear and tear with a three-year warranty. The Hopper Flip 12 will be available starting August 25 for $280 form yeticoolers.com.
