Each year, in the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, the top brands in cycling gather at the Interbike International Bicycle Expo to show off their newest bikes and gear for the coming year. Though smaller than Eurobike, Interbike still hosts thousands of brands. This year’s show, while slightly slower than years past, still had plenty of exciting innovations. In addition to new launches, many existing trends continued, including bikepacking, plus-sized wheels, gear catered to the urban millennial, and e-bikes. Below are our favorite pieces from this year’s show.
Ndvr Cycle Company
Ndvr is a new brand in the cycling world that’s well worth a look. The brand builds high-quality titanium bikes that easily split apart and pack into airline-approved bags.
Silca Seat Roll Premio
Silca’s new Boa-closure seat roll is one of the prettiest we’ve seen and has room for tire levers, CO2, a spare tube and all your essentials.
Shimano Metrea Groupset
Geared for the urban cyclist who likes to go fast, the new Shimano Metrea groupset was designed not only to be beautiful, but to be simple and functional as well. It’s expected to (finally) come to market in the coming year.
Blackburn Outpost Seat Pack Camo
Blackburn has been making bikepacking gear for a while now, but their new camo colorway is perfect for bikepack hunting trips.
Shimano S-Phyre RC9
One of the best shoes released at the show, Shimano’s S-Phyre RC9 has adjustable volume controls and is the brand’s first shoe featuring a Boa closure.
DZR H20 Shoes
If you like to commute with clipless pedals, but still want to look fashionable and have a functional piece of footwear when you get off the bike, then check out Bay Area-based DZR Shoes. The brand boasts have a handful of styles, including a new Chelsea boot that will be launching soon.
Enigma Cycle Works
Enigma bikes are handmade in England from either titanium or steel. They will be coming to the US for the first time this year.
Norco Torrent FS+ A7.1
The Torrent FS+ is Norco’s first plus-sized full-suspension bike. It’s pegged as an all-around trail machine and comes in at an affordable price point.
Giro Prolight Techlace
The Prolight Techlace is Giro’s all-out, bonkers ultralight shoe. Each pair weighs a mere 150 grams, or roughly the weight of your average apple.
