Evergoods has roots in two of the most respected names in outdoor gear: Patagonia, arguably the world’s best-known outdoor brand, and GORUCK, makers of military-grade packs and apparel. Founded by Jack Barely and Kevin Dee, the co-founder of GORUCK and a product engineer at Patagonia, respectively, Evergoods is one of our favorite backpack brands. The brand originally launched with two bags: the CPL 24 and the MPL 30. The bags were quickly funded on Kickstarter, exceeding the funding goal by nearly $24K.

Today, Evergoods is back on Kickstarter with two new bags. We’re particularly excited for the Civic Transit Bag 40L. The bag joins a growing trend of adventure travel bags aimed at urbanites looking to get outdoors. It features a minimal and sophisticated design, but packs plenty of technical features and materials. In the words of Evergoods, the bag “packs like a suitcase, is mobile like a duffel and wears like a backpack.” Inside the pack, Evergoods employs a handy compression system to help keep all of your clothing organized as well as maximizing the available space in the bag. It also features a handful of organizational pockets including a side-access laptop sleeve and a plethora of mesh pockets. The exterior of the bag is built from 500 denier HT nylon with a PU coating and silicone finish. The result is an incredibly durable shell that’s also water resistant.

It’s sized perfectly as a carry-on, but works equally well in an outdoor setting. The bags that Evergoods brings to market are all about versatility, and the CTB 40L could be the pinnacle of that concept.
