In a quest to create everyday apparel and equipment that’s as burly as it is beautiful, Mission Workshop stumbled on another characteristic: versatility. It’s present in every product the San Francisco brand makes, perhaps most notably in its line of bags. The newest entry into that line is the Transit Arkiv, a weatherproof briefcase designed for contemporary life.
The Arkiv isn’t boxy and formal like the briefcases of yore; it’s subtle, tough and practical. It’s made with materials like tear-resistant nylon and waxed canvas and contains features for the modern worker, including a padded laptop sleeve, an easy-access pocket for small essentials and an exterior water bottle sleeve. The Arkiv can be carried in multiple ways and includes a removable shoulder strap, and a removable waist strap that can be used to wear the bag messenger-style. The Arkiv also fits into Mission Workshop’s modular ecosystem of bags and can be combined with others to make it suitable for travel when more volume is called for.
