Boot technology has come a long way since the days of Sir Edmund Hillary, but some things, like a vintage-style hiking boot, should never change. Danner, in collaboration with Tanner Goods, has made an exemplary modern classic in the Danner Mountain Trail Left Bank boot ($350).
Made in the Portland, Oregon Danner factory, this special version of Danner’s 650 boot is constructed with Horween Russet Chomexcel Leather from Chicago’s fantastic Horween Leather Co. The boots also happen to be fully leather lined, so you know they’ll last — even under a heavy workload. The Mountain Trails stand atop a Vibram Gumlite outsole that’s re-craftable, and come with two sets of laces in Evergreen and Cream. We pardon the hoity-toity color titles only because they look so damn good.
