Don’t mess with a good thing. Fortunately for fans of the Adizero Evo SL, Adidas did anyway.

To close out 2025, a year dominated by the beloved trainer, Adidas decided to retool the shoe’s upper for a new variant quietly released in the midst of the holiday rush.

The Adizero Evo SL Woven is a new variant of the fan-favorite trainer that replaces the race-inspired upper of the original for one with better lockdown.

The shoe features a new woven upper to replace the almost-transparent mesh found on the original, addressing the lack of lockdown some runners experienced with the first version.

It also brings a gusseted tongue to the table, as revealed by official photos of the new variant.

According to Running Warehouse, where the shoe is already available for purchase, the updates do affect the weight of the shoe, albeit minimally. The listed weight is now 8.3 vs 8.1 ounces, as is the case on the previous version.

Still, the Adizero Evo SL Woven has some headroom to spare in that department, thanks to the fact it retained the signature ingredient of its predecessor.

So even with a few extra grams, the Adizero Evo SL Woven promises to be plenty quick, just without heel and tongue slippage.

Availability and pricing

Adidas has yet to officially announce the Adizero Evo SL Woven in the US, however, third parties like Running Warehouse and Fleet Feet are already selling the variant online.

The best part? It still costs just $150, despite the updates to the upper.
