Though Solingen-based Böker’s primary focus is knives, it isn’t afraid to dip its toes in the multi-tool space from time to time.

I’m always delighted when it does, as the brand has a knack for bringing style to everything it makes, often without breaking the bank.

Böker’s new Camp Knife is part of its historic Treebrand lineup, a label with deep roots in the brand’s legacy.

That’s the case with a trio of heritage-leaning new releases, which focus on a few key functions rather than implement overload.

The fittingly named Treebrand Camp Knife series is therefore worth a closer look by any outdoor enthusiast.

Stripped-down style

I’ll get to the functions in a moment, but let’s start with the distinctive handle scales, which come in black and amber bone and, at a more premium price point, stag.

Three closed pocket knives with textured handles in black, brown, and white on a wooden surface.
Three handle options are available: amber bone (left), black bone (right) and stag (center), which hits a more premium price point.

Handmade in Böker’s flagship factory, all three share decorative grooves that look great while also imparting texture for optimal grip.

Meanwhile a lanyard eyelet integrated into the front nickel silver bolster provides a convenient carry option.

Both blades are made from D2 steel, a budget-friendly option prized for its wear resistance and edge retention.

Emerging from the handle are a 2.52-inch drop point blade as well as a smaller clip point, both made of reliable, budget-friendly D2 steel, valued for its wear resistance and edge retention.

The double blades, featuring nail nicks and slipjoint mechanisms, boost versatility for both more ambitious slicing and detailed cuts, depending what is needed.

Where a Swiss Army Knife gets the job done, the Camp Knives do it with a handmade, heritage-grade elegance that sets it apart.

The Camp Knife also offers a bottle with a flat tip, which doubles as a flathead screwdriver and a pry tool.

There’s also a can opener and a corkscrew, meaning you can ultimately open everything from a can of beans to a Coke to a bottle of wine.

That means whether you are out hiking and camping or simply meeting up in the park, you have what you need, with a collector-class level of panache you won’t find in a Swiss Army Knife.
