If some is good, more is better.

That seems to be CJRB’s attitude toward one of the most fun and handy features it has introduced lately, glow-in-the-dark handles.

Among several variants of the Crag, the newest model (J1904-BGD) boasts a unique luminescent advantage.

After all, the treatment has made its way onto some of its most popular knives, including the Gobi, Maileah and Bolt

Now it has come to one of the coolest EDC knives you can get for $50 or less, the Crag.

Ready for its glow-up

Considering the fact that there are a dozen variants, CJRB clearly knows it has a winner on its hands with ye olde Crag.

What makes it so compelling? Let’s start with the business end, a 3.43-inch cleaver-style sheepsfoot blade made of the brand’s wallet-friendly but reliable AR-RPM9.

The steel is pretty standard for CJRB, but this particular blade shape is equal parts badass and effective.

Then there’s the snappy rear flipper, deploying the steel smoothly via the pivot assembly’s ceramic ball bearing, with a sturdy liner lock holding it firmly in place.

Meanwhile, the finger choil, together with an ergonomic 4.72-inch handle (complete with a reversible pocket clip), enables controlled cuts, slices and chops.

The smooth-swinging pivot and reversible pocket clip are two less-hyped but still appealing traits.

None of these features is particularly high-end, but they are incredibly dependable, user-friendly and friction-free, bringing a lot of joy at an approachable price point.

The appeal only rises with two bonus features for this particular variant of the Crag.

The first is the black PVD finish on the blade, which looks badass while boosting scratch and wear resistance.

The nearly five-inch handle permits a comfortable four-fingered grip for tackling everyday tasks inside and out.

The second is why we are all here today: the special G10 handle scales that absorb light to glow in the dark when day turns to night.

That’s super handy should you happen to drop your knife after sunset or before sunrise, but also if you are simply scrounging for it at the bottom of a bag or in a dark tent.

The best knife is the one you have on you because you can actually find it in the dark.

It’s just the sort of whimsical yet functional little touch that gives this knife an edge over the hundreds, if not thousands, of others available at this price point.

You know, just in case simply being the coolest isn’t enough.
