Costco Is Selling Yeti’s Famous (and Expensive) Cooler Way Under Retail Right Now

But probably not for long …

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. But one Redditor came with receipts.

According to their recent post on the main Yeti subreddit, a new Costco location in Forney, TX, is selling Yeti’s flagship Tundra 65 hard cooler way below retail.

What’s more, the discount even applies to the classic tan colorway, making this even more of a unicorn sale.

Unlike Yeti’s seasonal hues, which sometimes receive small price cuts to make room for new releases, tan sits squarely in its so-called Core collection alongside white, navy and “Rescue Red.”

That means it almost always goes for true MSRP, which currently sits at $395, reflective of its legendary performance chops.

However, the Forney Costco location currently has the cooler listed for just $300 — a drastic 24 percent price cut.

The deal was also corroborated by the Instagram account costcohotfinds, which has over three million followers.

Stamp of approval?

It’s unclear whether other locations plan to run the same sale, let alone receive any Yeti gear at all.

As another Redditor pointed out on the original post, “These will be unauthorized sale as costco isnt an authorized yeti dealer, they will probably get a letter from yeti and have to remove them. Pretty common, they recently had the same thing with unauthorized Patagonia selling.”

Inventory can vary wildly across Costco’s hundreds of location in the US, and some will often purchase items from local or regional retailers liquidating their assets.

Regardless of what happened in this case, and whether or not Yeti sends Costco a cease and desist letter for violating its pricing model, one thing is certain:

This is an excellent opportunity for residents in the Forney area to upgrade their cooler game ahead of summer.

For the rest of the country, it’s worth sharing a reminder that Yeti offers significant discounts to nurses, teachers, first responders, military personnel or anyone else with an ID.me account.

The company also sells secondhand gear through the Yeti Rescues program, which has the tan Tundra 65 listed for $335 in “Peak Condition” and $316 in “Like New.”
