Yeti’s name will forever be tied to its original product: coolers so rugged that not even bears stand a chance.

But longtime fans of the brand know just how far its come since that first foray into rotomolding.

Two decades since its founding, Yeti now makes everything from beach chairs to cast-iron skillets, but it’s items like the Lowlands Blanket that have helped transform it into a publicly traded outdoor empire.

A fan-favorite since its inception in 2019, the Lowlands Blanket features a dual-layer construction that’s soft on one side and waterproof on the other.

In other words, it’s ideal for wet grass and dewy campgrounds, assuming of course you’ve got a friend or two.

The Lowlands Blanket measures 55 by 78 inches spread out, providing ample coverage for groups. However, it can be cumbersome to haul in everyday scenarios, even with its standalone carry case.

Enter: the Lowlands Blanket (Small).

Back, for good

First released as a limited-edition one-off during Yeti’s recent Gear Garage extravaganza, the Lowlands Blanket (Small) is exactly what it sounds like: a tiny version of the brand’s trusty outdoor blanket.

On the product page, Yeti says describes it as “half the size” of the original, when really, it’s smaller.

The Lowlands Blanket (Small) measures 28.3 by 37.8 inches and clocks in at 1.5 pounds, making it about 75 percent lighter and more compact than the full-size version.

That effectively turns it into an EDC-friendly waterproof base for kids, dogs or simply oneself, supported by a strap that keeps it rolled up like a yoga mat for transport.

Availability and pricing

Previously available in a single color, Navy, the Lowlands Blanket (Small) now comes in three different hues, seemingly available for the foreseeable future.

There’s the dark blue as seen during last year’s Gear Garage sale, as well “Cape Taupe” and “Olive.”

All three come with a black strap and cost $75. For context, the larger Lowlands Blanket costs $200.
