GiantMouse’s Jutland Slipjoint Puts a Stealthy Titanium Spin on a Heritage EDC Knife

GiantMouse’s Jutlant Slipjoint actually started its life as a limited-edition release, called the GM8. However, it was such a success that the brand chose to add it to its permanent collection (with a rename, of course).

Now, for 2026, the brand has given it some thoughtful, stealthy tweaks and rereleased it once more as the GiantMouse Jutland Slipjoint Blackout.

Unfortunately, this blacked-out take on the Jutland is not one that everyone will be able to get. In fact, it’s one of the brand’s rarest releases, with only 100 examples built.

Furthermore, this is technically a collaboration with The Knife Lounge in Germany, and the units will be split between the two collaborators. The first 60 knives are available through GiantMouse and the remaining 40 have been allocated to The Knife Lounge.

So, what makes this knife special when compared to existing Jutlands? That’d be the finish. As the name suggests, this knife is completely blacked out. But it’s slightly more complicated (and utilitarian) than that.

The finish on both the handle (including the hardware) and the blade is a PVD coating. That means that, in addition to making it the stealthiest Jutland to date, it’s also slightly more durable than existing models.

Danish precision

While that all-black finish certainly stands apart from other Jutlands, it’s otherwise built the same. That said, the construction and materials of this knife were already spectacular enough to earn it numerous accolades.

The aggressive drop-point blade is CPM S90V, a classic beloved for its hardness, corrosion resistance, and balance between toughness and wear resistance.

The handle is machined from titanium, which is incredibly strong and lightweight. It also benefits from an eye-catching milled pattern that improves its overall grip.

Finally, this is a traditional slipjoint, meaning it doesn’t have a lock. However, its mechanism is precision-engineered to provide robust resistance when opened, ensuring high safety and security.

The blade measures 2.65 inches, while the full length clocks in at 6.45 inches. It also weighs just 2.5 ounces, making it an easy addition to your EDC. Of course, it’s also built to be durable enough to withstand hardcore outdoor use.
