Much like the people that carry them, EDC tools come in all shapes and sizes. But more often than not, enthusiasts are stuck choosing between power and convenience, with larger knives weighing down a day’s loadout, and smaller tools sacrificing utility.

Orioner’s new, tiny multi-tool knife aims to eliminate that tradeoff, pairing a compact footprint with robust capacity … and a surprisingly affordable price tag.

Pint-sized powerhouse

The Z6 is 1.6 inches long and weighs less than half an ounce (0.48 ounces, to be exact). At half the length of the average pinkie finger, the folder is ultra-tiny.

And yet, that incredibly small footprint is one of its greatest strengths: the Z6 can handle daily tasks and be carried just about anywhere without taking up any room at all in your daily loadout. It’s also packed with premium materials.

The star of the show on Orioner’s newest release is undoubtedly the blade.

The 67-layer Damascus steel blade merges edge retention, corrosion resistance and superior toughness (not to mention craftsmanship) into a folder that can be used to slice boxes, cut tape and paper and glide through plastic packaging with ease.

With the intent to merge utility with art, and influenced by Swiss Army Knives, Orioner’s team focused on ergonomics, unbeatable materials and convenient carry.

The CNC-machined, sandblasted grade 5 titanium frame checks all those boxes, and includes a groove for easy gripping that doubles as an integrated bottle opener, as well as a keyring hole for effortless carry.

The snap pin lock keeps the blade firmly in place while deployed.

With its enduring materials and elegant design that perfectly balances art and utility, you’d expect this folder to be pricey, but that’s not the case at all. The Z6 is just $29 during Orioner’s Early Bird Sale, and still only $49 full price.

Availability and pricing

The Z6 is currently being funded on Kickstarter, with 23 days left to go in the campaign. The knife will be $49 full price, and $59 for a knife and magnetic pocket clip combo.
