This Japanese-Made Flight Jacket Is Lined with Alpaca Fleece

A modern take on the B-2 flight jacket.

Iron-Heart-Whipcord-Gear-Patrol-Lead-Full

Japanese brand Iron Heart made a hard-wearing version of the classic B-2 flight jacket that doesn’t skimp on the details. Cut from cotton whipcord fabric, the jacket is lined with long-pile alpaca fleece. For added warmth, the fleece also lines the collar and front pockets. The jacket includes a heavy-duty two-way YKK zipper underneath a buttoned storm flap, an additional interlining for added wind resistance, knitted storm cuffs and quilted satin-lined sleeves. Available in sizes S through 3XL, it retails for $725. Given the attention to detail and substantial build, that’s a very fair price for an iconic piece of outerwear.
