The Superstar may lack the clout of the Samba or the sales record of the Stan Smith. But for old heads, the shoe will forever belong to Adidas’s big three.
First released as leather alternative to the Converse Chuck Taylor, the Superstar peaked in the ’80s and ’90s, when Run-D.M.C cemented its legacy as one of the definitive crossover sneakers of the 20th century.
Now, decades later, the shoe is once again redefining its boundaries, this time as a heavy-duty work boot to take on the infamous Timberland.

Get the boot
Though the Adidas Superstar Boot looks like a far cry from its namesake, going so far to drop the brand’s three-stripe motif on the side, it does retain the original’s signature toe cap.
Only here, instead of rubber, Adidas opted for a molded nubuck shell, which matches the rest of the upper.
