After more than 135 years of business, Carhartt was bound to have a few classics in its closet. Few are more renowned than the Detroit Jacket and Chore Coat, both stalwarts of the brand’s long-standing catalog of heavy-duty workwear.
Now the two styles come together in the Chore Jacket, a revived design from the 1990s. Only here, it headlines a new collection called the Crafted Series featuring “robust construction” and Carhartt’s “heaviest-weight materials,” the brand says.

Lined with plush sherpa and available in either denim or 12-ounce duck canvas, the silhouette combines the shorter hem of the Detroit Jacket with the patch pockets of the Chore Coat. There’s also an ultradurable #10 zipper to guarantee longevity.

However, utility is only half of the draw, as Carhartt also decided to layer in archival details like its iconic heart button, a coveted detail known to fetch a pretty penny on the collector’s market.
