When Filson recently revealed its luxurious new Lined Mackinaw Wool Packer Coat, the $1,199 price tag turned heads.

Featuring a heritage-inspired design with 24-ounce Mackinaw Wool construction and an eye-catching sheepskin-shearling collar, it quickly became one of the brand’s boldest and priciest offerings.

Though it’s not quite as luxurious as the Mackinaw Wool Packer Coat, which is currently the most luxurious piece of outerwear Filson sells, this denim version maintains the same caped construction, multiple cargo pockets, and commanding presence that made the original so compelling.

This collaboration, which Filson’s creative director Alex Carleton described as a perfect blend of two iconic brands with nearly 250 years of combined history, brings together Filson’s rugged craftsmanship with Wrangler’s Western heritage.

Let’s be clear, though, the Filson x Wrangler Indigo Packer jacket still boasts plenty of refinements and details to justify its premium price.

The Wrangler version of the Packer Jacket is now listed at just $525, down from its original $750 price.

While it doesn’t feature the exact ultra-premium materials as Filson’s mainline version, this collaboration piece maintains the same caped construction, multiple cargo pockets, and commanding presence that made the original so compelling. Since it’s made from denim, it’s arguably even more of a workhorse than the original.

The Adventure Jean, originally $245 and now on sale for $170, combines 14.5-ounce cotton denim with Filson’s signature waxed duck canvas reinforcements at key stress points, including the seat, knees, and kick plate. The result is a jean that offers significantly more protection than standard denim while maintaining a classic, civilian-friendly style.

However, currently, discounts range from approximately 30% off across the collection at Wrangler.com’s Filson x Wrangler collection page, making premium workwear and outerwear more attainable at a lower price.
