Since it went by the name Blue Ribbon Sports, Nike has churned out some of the world’s most iconic shoes.
That said, few rival the notoriety of the Air Jordan 1, first banned by the NBA before spawning a multibillion-dollar sub-brand (not to mention its own Golden Globe-nominated movie, Air).
Now, nearly half a century later, it continues to inform new designs coming out of Beaverton, Oregon.
