Bose’s new SoundLink Micro ($110) is, according the brand, the “smallest, most rugged portable speaker” Bose has ever made. It weighs just 10 ounces and can fit in the palm of your hand. It’s fully waterproof (IPX7), no matter whether it’s swimming in soapy, chlorinated or salt water, and has an integrated strap to grab onto your backpack, mountain bike or Yeti cooler.
I’ve yet to hear how the Micro sounds, but Bose talks a big game its new custom transducer and miniature dual-passive radiators. If you have other Bose SoundLink speakers, like the the SoundLink Revolve ($200) or the SoundLink Revolve+ ($300), you can sync them via the Bose app and play them all together. On its own, the Micro’s battery lasts six hours. And if you want to talk to Siri or Google Assistant, its integrated microphone lets you do just that.
The SoundLink Micro will come in three colors: black, midnight blue and bright orange. You can preorder today. The speakers will be available beginning September 21.
