During Timex’s meteoric rise in popularity with enthusiasts over the past few years, the brand has quietly become a master of affordable homage watches.
From obvious targets like Rolex and Omega to more inside-baseball favorites such as Zenith and IWC, Timex is continually drawing from luxury watch brands when cooking up its ultra-affordable offerings.
Now, the brand seems to have used a pair of extremely popular watches from those two aforementioned heavyweights, Rolex and Omega, when designing the latest version of its retro Marlin dress watch. And while I wouldn’t say the new watch in question is an homage, I would argue that it wears its high-end inspirations on its sleeve … or rather, its dial.

Celebrate good times (with Snoopy)
Timex’s new watch is the Peanuts x Timex Marlin Flower Dial, a seemingly innocuous quartz-powered ladies’ watch with Snoopy and some flowers on the dial. In other words, this does not seem like a watch that would interest enthusiasts — at least on paper.
But take a look at that dial. Look familiar? To me, the dial shares a lot in common with Rolex’s Oyster Perpetual “Celebration Dial” that launched in 2023. The Timex is almost the exact same shade of turquoise as the Rolex, and while it features a random arrangement of colorful flowers instead of colorful balls, the visual effect is similar, if less in-your-face.
