Why it matters

The Dearborn is the more relaxed-fitting version of the Carhartt’s Iconic K87 shirt, originally launched in 1992. With the possible exception of the brand’s celebrity-endorsed A18 Watch Hat, it’s the most recognizable and approachable apparel staple the company makes.
It’s made from 6.75-ounce, 100% cotton, which is noticeably heavier than your average fashion tee and even heavier than the unofficial but generally accepted 6 oz standard that typically defines the heavyweight threshold.
The construction reflects Carhartt’s long-standing approach to basics: reinforced seams, tag-free neck label and a tagless design that holds up through repeated industrial washing. It’s the kind of shirt that doesn’t ask to be babied.
