From Subtle to Full Salute, Here Are the Best Watches Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary

July 4th, 2026, marks 250 years since a rag-tag group of colonial gentry declared independence from the largest, most powerful empire the world had ever seen, and the watch industry is getting in on the celebration.

You can take it as a sign of the American market’s importance to the industry, or simply as a sign of respect, but either way, more overtly patriotic designs have hit the market in the past few months than there were original colonies.

The ten best designs marking America 250 are gathered below, ranging from Hamilton’s deep-cut historical reference to Benrus placing an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence on the dial.

Unfortunately, only two watches on the list are actually produced stateside, and none of the movements are. But American watch brands, both past and present, are well represented. Along with a few Swiss brands, a Canadian brand, and, believe it or not, even an English brand.

Jack Mason’s automatic Canton Day-Date dons a patriotic color scheme with a wavy-textured blue dial and gold detailing. Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical 250

In celebration of America’s 250th birthday and in recognition of the brand’s long history with the US Armed Forces, Hamilton created a limited-edition reproduction of the rare FAPD 5101 navigator’s watch. It was issued by the Air Force to flight navigators during the Vietnam War. It has a 36mm sandblasted steel case, an acrylic box crystal and fixed pin bars. It comes with an olive green nylon NATO strap, a brown leather NATO strap and an olive nylon watch roll. It is limited to 1,776 pieces, of course.

Breitling America250 Avenger Collection

Breitling is the only luxury watch brand to officially collaborate with America250, the bipartisan government organization established to oversee celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The collection consists of the Avenger 42 dive watch, limited to 250 pieces, and the Avenger B01 Chronograph 42, limited to 50 pieces. Both watches have blue dials with red and white accents and come on blue woven straps with calfskin lining and red side stitching.

Zenith

Zenith Chronomaster Revival Liberty II

Zenith’s iconic revival chronograph, mirroring the original 37mm angular tonneau case and ladder bracelet from 1969, dons a red, white and blue dial in celebration of America’s 250th birthday. The blue-on-white panda dial is accented with a red-and-white striped chronograph seconds hand and a red date track on a white disc. A fun Easter egg is that 250 on the white tachometer track is red. It is available in a stainless steel case on a steel bracelet or a blue rubber strap, which is limited to 250 pieces, as well as a black carbon fiber case on a blue rubber bracelet, limited to just 25 pieces.

Bernhardt The Cipher Diver

North Carolina-based boutique brand Bernhardt Watch Co. collaborated with Thomas Jefferson’s estate at Monticello, Virginia, to incorporate a mechanical cipher designed by the Founding Father into a dive watch. What appears to be a standard dive bezel, and is even fully lumed, reveals an alphabetical code cipher under a UV light. It aligns with the minutes track to decipher coded messages. The watch is powered by a Miyota caliber 9039 automatic movement and comes on a three-link steel bracelet.

Bulova Snorkel Sail 4th

Bulova was once a titan of American watchmaking headquartered in Queens, NY. While it’s been owned by Japan’s Citizen Group for a long time now, the brand is celebrating America’s big milestone with a red-white-and-blue Snorkel.
