Christopher Ward has steadily climbed toward the top of the increasingly crowded independent watchmaking field over the past decade. It offers a balance of approachable, all-purpose options and ambitious, progressive designs, all at extremely fair prices, which few brands in the field can match.
The Bell Canto and Loco references might win all the awards, but it’s the C63 Sealander collection that leads the brand as Christopher Ward’s flagship watch. The do-it-all marvel is that much closer to perfection as the British brand fills in the blanks from a fantastic overhaul launched in early 2026.
Last April, the C63 Sealander collection, including the time-and-date Automatic and the GMT, received both visual and performance updates.
Both watches got slimmer across every case size. The GMT bezel was toned down, and the Automatic bezel was polished. The crown, protected by a small sloping crown guard on the GMT only, is a new conical shape.
As for the dial, the Sealander wordmark appears for the first time above 6:00, where the framed date window is raised for better balance. The hands are narrower, and the faceted indices look sharper.
Improvements were even more profound on the technical side, with the collection receiving the new iLink steel bracelet system with tool-free link removal, as well as the new Sellita Caliber SW200-2 Power+ with a significantly increased 65-hour power reserve.
