Orient’s Affordable Automatic Sports Watch Is Back with Some Gorgeous Dials

According to Orient, this is the last chance to get the Stretto Semi Skeleton.

Orient debuted the current Stretto Semi Skeleton collection in 2024, featuring a larger case and a more complicated dial than the standard Stretto.

The eye-catching iteration on one of Orient’s most versatile all-purpose watches just got a limited-edition restock, and according to the brand, this is the last chance to pick one up. Better still, it is selling for the discounted price of $420.

The Stretto Semi Skeleton dial deviates significantly from the Stretto’s three-hand, time-and-date format. However, it retains much of the design language that makes the watch so attractive.

Encircling the dial is the same hour track of faceted wedge indices running along a sunken ring, each punctuated with a lume dot on the outer rim. The remainder of the rim is filled with a black dash minutes track.

At the center are the same beveled obelisk hour and minute hands fitted with lume inserts. Orient’s logo is printed below 12:00 with an applied coat of arms.

The small seconds and dial aperture are stylized as overlapping circles with connecting metallic rehaut rims. A portion of the seconds dial is cut out inside the dash track, and it is marked with 15, 30 and 60.

Visible through the “open-heart” dial aperture is a single jewel fit into a bridge above the balance wheel. The term refers to the balance wheel’s status as the “beating heart” of a mechanical watch movement.

The fab four

This last hurrah for the Stretto Semi Skeleton features the same four references introduced in 2024. There are three stainless steel options available with sky blue, crimson, and green dials.

The first two feature metallic detailing, while the third uses gold-tone plating.

Rounding out the quartet is a pearly-white dial with gold-tone plating on the dial details, case, crown, bezel and bracelet.

All four dials are finished with a sunburst texture on the main and small seconds plates.

Full metal bracelet

The Stretto Semi Skeleton is sold on a Y-link stainless steel bracelet that mimics the Oyster-style three-link look, and fastens with a folding clasp. It is brushed on all four references, including the gold-tone one.

Orient’s frugality is only overt on the bracelet through its faux three-link design and lack of micro-adjustment.

The small seconds dial is powered by an in-house Orient Caliber F6S22 automatic movement, which beats at 3Hz and provides a 40-hour power reserve. It’s equipped with a hacking seconds hand and can be manually wound to boost the power reserve.

Availability and pricing

Orient’s declared final run of the Stretto Semi Skeleton is available now from Orient USA. Unsurprisingly, it is currently discounted, dropping the price from $535 for steel and $600 for gold-tone to $420 and $470, respectively.
