For years, decades even, Nike’s roster of running shoes revolved around the Pegasus.
The do-it-all workhorse first came out in the 1980s, and it continues to be the subject of Nike’s most exciting new tech.
But for many a runner, it can no longer best called the brand’s best daily trainer, with the baton passing last year to the Vomero Plus.

Designed to dethrone Hoka in the max-cushioned category, the model features a midsole made entirely of ZoomX foam, the same PEBA-based compound found in Nike’s record-setting super shoes.

That makes the shoe surprisingly nimble, despite a substantial 45mm stack height, with a soft landing that helps keep the legs feeling fresh.
