For years, even decades, the Moon Shoe was the stuff of legend.
Still today, it’s unclear whether or not Nike ever sold it to the public. If it did, Nike admits, only a few pairs ever made it out of the brand’s small retail space in Eugene, Oregon.
Hence why one of only 12 pairs created for the 1972 Olympic trials sold for $437,500 at auction back in 2019.

Needless to say, Nike reviving the Moon Shoe last year as part of an ongoing partnership with French fashion house Jacquemus turned more than a few heads. Thankfully, the decision didn’t appear to be a one-off.

The Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoe returns for 2026 in a new trio of never-before-seen colorways, including “Medium Brown,” “Pale Pink” and white with a white Swoosh.
