Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Danner has a reputation for building stylish, capable footwear (but don’t discount the brand’s unique apparel). And while you can’t really go wrong with any of the brand’s boots or shoes, sometimes it goes the extra mile.
In this case, the brand has gone an extra few thousand miles, all the way to the shores of Hawaii for its latest launch. The Danner x Sig Zane collection combines the outfit’s trailblazing offerings with the spirit and craft of the Hawaiian people.

The spirit of the Hawaiian people
Sig Zane is a giant of Hawaiian culture and art. He and his wife, Nalani Kanakaʻole, founded Sig Zane Designs back in 1985, and his work has played a significant role in keeping Hawaiian cultural practices and techniques alive for decades.
In the case of this collection, Danner has called upon Zane to imbue a trio of pieces with his expert pattern-making techniques, creating a physical bridge between the collections’ contemporary offerings and Zane’s cultural origins. Zane chose to utilize an ‘A‘ali‘i flower-inspired pattern as a symbol of resiliency, which is appropriate for this particularly capable collection.
