The Puma Suede has been in production for nearly six decades now; in many ways, it is the definitive lifestyle sneaker from the renowned sportswear brand.

Now, the beloved silhouette has been given a heritage-fueled upgrade, via a luxurious new upper courtesy of Charles F. Stead.

Generations of style

The Suede made its debut in 1968 as a basketball warm-up sneaker. In the ’80s, it was adopted as a hip-hop staple and made its way into streetwear.

In 2018, Puma celebrated the shoe’s 50th anniversary with multiple special editions.

Throughout its long history, the construction of the shoe has remained essentially the same: a suede upper, rubber sole and signature Puma branding.

Now, the classic style gets its most premium revision yet.

The latest Suede was designed in collaboration with Charles F. Stead, a renowned British tannery known for its premium suede and high-end specialty leathers.

The Suede Charles F. Stead is built with the tannery’s legendary, ultra-soft suede, available in a selection of five monochrome colorways.

Each hue includes a Frosted Ivory shade of white suede on the side panel Puma stripe.

The sleek shoe comes with a circular Charles F. Stead co-branded suede hangtag, nodding to the punched-up collab.
