Like much of today’s fitness apparel and footwear, many of Nike’s running shoes tend to veer toward bright, neon-adjacent colorways.

The popular brand’s innovative recent release, the Pegasus Premium, is no exception.

But runners that gravitate toward darker hues are in luck; the super shoe is arriving this spring in a smoky new colorway that goes beyond standard black.

Dark and moody

To be clear, this isn’t the first time the Pegasus Premium has appeared in a moody hue — there’s a mostly black option with some metallic accents — but the all-new “Off Noir/Dark Hazel/Ironstone/Black” variant marks the first time the shoe has been given a rich, deep makeover that stands out from typical blacked-out sneakers.

The expressive “Our Pace, Our Vib(e)ration” edition of Nike’s top-tier sneaker was developed as part of a more expansive seasonal collection centered on shared movement and a community-oriented, global approach to running, complete with motivational messaging alongside its updated aesthetic.

The slate gray knit mesh upper, featuring contrasting lighter gray lace panels and hazelnut overlays, pairs with a durability-enhancing black ripstop wrap that shields the lower half of the shoe.

The equally dark outsole includes a contrasting blue accent that adds to the dimension of the shoe, and the sneak peek of the visible heel Air unit adds another minimal dash of color, this time yellow.

Along with a smoky, dynamic new color palette, there are nods to the brand’s global approach to running across the shoe, from the “Our Pace Our Vib(e)ration” ethos included on the outer forefoot to the abstract running figure graphics on the insoles and inner sidewall.
