Quoth the raven: “EDC?”

With apologies to Edgar Allen Poe, that’s the first thing that comes to mind for me beholding Böker’s latest lovely little pocket knife.

The fittingly named Corvus offers as much capable function as it does captivating form.

After all, the blade’s very name is the genus of several species of raven and crow.

It’s a fitting moniker, too, as the Böker Plus Corvus carries a color, shape and attitude that evoke those black birds, as well as tactical vibes that call to mind a very different sort of Blackbird.

No flight of fancy

Evocative nomenclature aside, the Corvus is an all-business, Kirk Mayberry-designed flipper that just so happens to make this look good, as Agent J would say.

Nitro-V is no super steel, but the many facets of this blade elevate it both aesthetically and functionally.

Its function-first nature begins with the blade, a 2.76-inch wharncliffe with a protective two-toned finish featuring dark-stonewash and brushed flats.

It’s made of budget-friendly Nitro-V steel, which nonetheless offers strong corrosion resistance, toughness and edge retention.

Note the performance-enhancing swedge at the end of the blade, just above the tip.

Adding to the blade’s appeal is that common tactical knife staple, a swedge; this secondary bevel slims the blade near the tip, boosting its piercing ability without sacrificing strength.

Meanwhile, jimping at the back of the spine improves safety and precision during detail-driven tasks.

On the other end of the equation, a textured, ergonomic, slip-resistant handle made of Micarta offers reliable comfort and control.

The blade’s grippy rear flipper tab and a ball-bearing pivot ensure snappy deployment, with a dependable liner lock holding the blade firmly in place.

Rounding things out, a lanyard hole and stainless steel deep-carry tip-up clip give you multiple carry options till it’s time for this 3.1-ounce bird to fly, so to speak.
