Duffels are some of the hardest-working bags in the outdoors, and as such, they often show wear and tear faster than totes, backpacks and slings.
Norda’s latest update to its massive duffel, the Toolbox, helps disguise scuffs and marks — and hides a groundbreaking material development behind its exclusive colorway.
The Toolbox’s new hue isn’t just a color update; it also marks an advancement in Dyneema material technology.Norda
Color theory
The Toolbox is Norda’s robust, 70-liter do-it-all duffel, and the brand just released an exclusive new colorway that’s ideal for hiding the inevitable smudges that come with hauling outdoor gear.
The taupe hue is perfect for minimizing the look of unwanted marks, especially when compared to the original white colorway of the bag.

The new “Cinder” hue isn’t just useful in hiding unwanted marks, though. It also marks a breakthrough in Dyneema material technology.
Go ahead, set it on the ground: the new “Cinder” Toolbox isn’t just tough, but even better than its predecessors at hiding unwanted scuffs.Norda
Norda made a name for itself thanks to the brand’s novel approach to bio-based Dyneema applications; it was the first brand to use a seamless upper made entirely from the world’s strongest and lightest fiber in a trail running shoe, the 001 model that launched in 2021.
Much of Norda’s product line, which includes men’s and women’s apparel, footwear, bags and accessories, is constructed using Dyneema.
Padded, detachable straps allow the Toolbox to be carried as a backpack, or diagonally as a cross-body bag.Norda
As great as it is, Dyneema is infamously difficult to dye, due to its unique chemical structure and tensile strength.
For that reason, Norda’s new Cinder edition of the Toolbox is only available in very limited quantities, underscoring its rarity — and helping to explain its high price.

Thanks to its “buy it for life” design, which includes innovative materials like bio-circular Dyneema, thoughtful features like the included Stealth Black Dyneema stow bag, removable, modular straps, cinch straps and internal organization, the “Cinder” Toolbox costs a whopping $595.
But, in justification of its heart-stopping price tag, if you only want to buy one duffel for the rest of your adventures, there aren’t many that could stand up to Norda’s level of quality.
