Built with an innovative material and multiple carry options, the special-release Porter Tanker Coyote Recon Bag is a masterclass in technical functionality.

The Recon Bag is one of five new limited-edition items in the Tanker Coyote series, celebrating the 90th anniversary of Yoshida & Co.’s founding.

Brown nylon briefcase with dual front zip pockets and top handles. — At $690 the Recon Bag doesn’t come cheap, but thanks to highly technical fabrics and multiple carry options, it’s built to go the distance and justify that price tag.

The modular new bag is built with Porter’s 100-percent plant-based nylon, a combination of biomass nylon twill and nylon taffeta lining, in the brand’s Coyote colorway, which is military-inspired while remaining elevated enough for everyday.

The Recon Bag is a modular, B4-sized briefcase that can be carried two ways: by the hand, similar to traditional briefcases, or as a backpack.

The clamshell zipper opens the bag wide, and front pockets add versatile storage options.

Each of the 10-liter bags comes with a serial number tag, marking its unique nature.

The interior features Yoshida & Co.’s original “Traveling Map” print, which pays homage to its anniversary and has been featured on multiple special releases over the last year.

Availability and pricing

The Porter / Tanker Coyote Recon Bag will be available tomorrow, April 14th, retailing for ¥110,000 (~$690 USD).
