You Can Finally Order an Essential Phone, Today

The father of Android, Andy Rubin, has a new phone.

The Essential Phone is finally available to order. You can order the smartphone from Essential’s website, Best Buy or Sprint. An unlocked model, which supports all major carriers, will set you back $699; or, you can bundle the phone with Essential’s 360-degree camera accessory (it’s a mod, really) for $749. If you order today, expect to have the smartphone in your hands in roughly seven days.

The Essential Phone was announced back in May and it’s the first device from Andy Rubin’s new gadget company, Essential Products. The smartphone is a premium device meant to go toe-to-toe with the latest iPhones and Android devices by Google, Samsung and more. It has a Qualcomm 835 processor, a very nice dual-camera system, and a nearly bezel-less display, all of which is housed in a drop-resistant, titanium-and-ceramic body.
