TwelveSouth just released a versatile new wireless charger called the HiRise Wireless. It’s neat because it can be used as a wireless charging stand or a wireless charging pad. The unique form factor allows you to charge your iPhone or AirPods (if you have a wireless charging case), which is typically something only wireless charging pads (which lie flat) have been able to do.
The company is claiming the HiRise Wireless is a “3-way” wireless charger because it also works as a portable wireless charger; you can unplug its power disc and then, while on the road, use your MacBook’s USB-C cable to power the HiRise Wireless. This “3-way” description feels a little gratuitous, however, as most wireless charging stands can be unplugged and then be used as “portable” devices.
Still, for people who want an all-in-one wireless charging stand that works with their iPhone and AirPods, this seems like a good option. The HiRise Wireless is available now for $80.
