Everything looks better in black, but this changeup means the watches are even tougher, too.

Luminox’s Pacific Diver watch series is among the brand’s most stylish offerings. But its latest iteration aligns more with its most rugged timepieces.

While some of the stylistic hallmarks remain, the Pacific Diver Stealth Series takes a trio of dive watches in a … darker direction. But the changes aren’t just to the aesthetics.

Always bet on black

Most of Luminox’s Pacific Diver Series watches come with silver stainless steel cases. Obviously, these ones are not silver; they’re blacked out. Even the straps have been swapped for black ones.

While that’s a pretty significant stylistic change, the alteration goes beyond just the looks. That color swap also comes with a significant material swap.

Instead of bare stainless steel, these watches now come with blacked-out IP (Ion Plated) stainless steel, enhancing their overall durability. This also extends to the caseback.

Furthermore, the rotating dive timer bezel gets swapped for Luminox’s signature Carbonox — a high-performance carbon composite that’s lightweight, extremely tough and exceptionally durable.

As mentioned, the straps are black. Moreover, Luminox swapped the steel link bands for black rubber ones, which mesh better with the sporty styling of the Carbonox-bezeled cases.

A splash of color

While the color and material changes are obviously big ones, many aspects of these watches remain unchanged, aligning with their siblings. Probably the most obvious is the dials.

Though most of the watches are blacked out, the dials incorporate pops of color, available in red, blue and green. Similarly, the hands and hours have another signature Luminox feature: vibrant, colorful lume (which lasts for up to 25 years).

Under the dial is another familiar feature: a reliable, Swiss-made Ronda 515 quartz movement — a hallmark of the series. The same goes for above it, where you’ll find a sapphire crystal with an antireflective coating.

Of course, these are still dive watches, so that means they need to handle being plunged into the depths. They’ve got that covered, too, boasting 200-meter water resistance ratings.
