Now Available: Yeti Quietly Replaced a Core Colorway with Something Way Better

The brand’s core color roster has been missing a key player for most of 2025. That just changed (sort of).

With the deluge of colorways coming out of Yeti Nation, ranging from neon yellow to custom camo, you’d be forgiven for missing the ones that got away.

However, longtime fans of the Texas brand will tell you that its roster of so-called “Core Colors” has gone the better part of 2025 one short.

That’s because Yeti quietly discontinued “Charcoal” sometime in the past year, demoting the dark gray to a European exclusive (with the exception of some coolers and the LoadOut Gear Cases in the US).

“Charcoal” is now a European exclusive, as far the drinkware goes.

Fortunately, this story has a cheery ending, as dark gray has officially returned to the brand’s expansive collection of drinkware. But the twist is that it’s not “Charcoal.”

It’s something better.

Show some grit

The color in question is one called “Black Stone” and it’s not actually new.

“Black Stone” initially came out in late 2023 as a limited-edition one-off, with secondhand examples now selling for a significant markup on sites eBay.

But its collectibility extending beyond the specific hue.

Unlike a majority of Yeti Rambler bottles, which feature a smooth DuraCoat finish, the color’s grainy exterior gives it extra grip — a boon for water sports and days on the boat.

According to Redditors, “Black Stone” started to show up at third-party retailers like Dick’s Sporting Goods earlier this month. But the colorway is officially live on Yeti’s site, following in the footsteps of other textured Rambler releases, including “Cherry Blossom Pink” and “Moon Dust.”

At launch, “Black Stone” only covers a small selection of Rambler drinkware, with the biggest vessel being the 36-ounce bottle. However, it does extend to the new coffee mugs with ceramic linings.

It’s unclear how long the color will last, with Yeti calling it a “Limited Edition” on each item’s respective product page. But judging by the secondhand prices of yore, you probably won’t want to wait for these to hit eBay.
