What goes into a winter sneaker? For most brands, the inclusion of a Gore-Tex liner on an existing model usually does the trick.

The Vomero Roam, first released at the end of 2024, shows how much further it can go.

Loosely based off the Vomero 5, the Roam brings a bevy of all-weather upgrades to the popular runner-turned-lifestyle-sneaker. These include a wraparound mudguard, closed-seam construction and warm thermal lining.

With the next colorway on the horizon, you can add retro hiker DNA to the list.

Breaking away from the many monochromatic colorways that have defined the Vomero Roam to date, the upcoming variant is characterized by its contrast of khaki, gray and safety-orange accents.

However, that’s not its only differentiator.

A closer inspection of the sides reveals Nike’s choice to go with suede leather paneling, which replaces the synthetic upper of standard Vomero Roam.

It’s a subtle change, of course, but one that embeds the shoe with the type of of retro charm usually reserved for ACG reissues rather than new designs.

Availability and pricing

This variant of the Vomero Roam is expected to drop in early 2026 at the model’s usual $190 price point.

In the meantime, check out the shoe’s new military-adjacent “Sequoia” colorway released earlier this month.
