Crocs’ Weirdest Shoe Ever Might Just Be the Holy Grail of Quirky Clogs

These clunky slip-ons have a quirky allure, likely because they’re made alongside the legendary building-block toy brand Lego.

According to the brand, “the name ‘LEGO’ is an abbreviation of the two Danish words ‘leg’ and ‘godt,’ meaning ‘play well.'” And that concept has been the guiding light for the toy brand ever since its founding back in 1932.

Now, the brand is stepping into a new space, quite literally, with some weird new footwear. However, the Crocs x LEGO Brick Clogs still maintain all of the brand’s quirky playfulness.

Construct-a-clog

While perhaps not a regular occurrence, the fashion world occasionally sees incredibly quirky releases reach absurd heights. Back in 2023, for instance, it seemed like the entire internet was obsessed with MSCHF’s anime-inspired boots. More recently, Labubus have been a major fashion accessory.

If I had to hazard a guess, I’d put money down that these LEGO clogs are going to reach similar heights. Yes, they’re clunky and, frankly, ugly, but therein lies their charm.

Of course, their weirdness isn’t without reason. These clogs are made especially to look like LEGO building bricks — I know: obviously. But they’re not just boxy; their details are spot-on. From the four LEGO-branded studs on the top to the faux anti-stud sole, they really look like LEGO.

If you didn’t know better, you’d swear these clogs were really made out of LEGO bricks.

Even in silhouette, they have seams that mimic where the bricks would meet (were they genuine LEGO pieces).

However, it’s important to note that these are all merely stylistic quirks. They are, thankfully, not at all like wearing genuine LEGO bricks on your feet. Anyone who has ever stepped on a stray LEGO can tell you, this is an extremely good thing.

And that’s where Crocs’ expertise comes in.

Looks can be deceiving

Despite their boxiness, these clogs are just as comfortable as Crocs’ fan-favorite standard fare. That’s because, beyond their exterior styling, they’re still built the same.

The entire clog, including the signature back strap, is built from the brand’s lightweight Croslite foam. That also means they’re durable, flexible, easy to clean and waterproof.

Furthermore, they feature the brand’s textured, shaped insole, which makes them quite comfortable, even in bare feet. While the brands proclaim that these aren’t for “all-day wear,” there’s no reason you couldn’t slip them on for long periods.

As an added bonus, the shoes ship with a LEGO Minifig, which has its own pair of matching clogs. All signs point to this collaboration being a major hit, and they’re almost definitely going to sell out extremely quickly, so you’ll want to be on top of it if you hope to secure your own pair.
