Vinyl continues to lead the way when it comes to the resurgence of physical media, with record sales having increased every year since 2007. In fact, last year vinyl record sales surpassed $1 billion for the first time since 1983.
Naturally, this has encouraged many of the biggest names in hi-fi to get back in (or ramp up) the turntable business. Today, brands like Pro-Ject, Sony, Audio-Technica, Technics and Teac all make a wide variety of turntables. Some are designed for entry-level vinyl enthusiasts. Some are designed for truly elite audiophiles with seriously deep pockets.
